Twilight
Since Twilight seems to be a big deal, I thought I would write a few notes.
Here’s how vapire movies rank (this list is off the top of my head).
Underworld series and then Blade. Maybe Interview with a Vampire and The Lost Boys and other movies of their ilk. OK.. I hope you’re still with me. Next, we would probably put Dracula 2000 and From Dusk Til Dawn.
Then we get into the stuff like Count Blacula and the Littlest vampire.
Next maybe Scooby vs. the Vampires and the Count Chocula commercials.
Then.. maybe… only maybe.. I might put the Twilight movie. I’m not sure if it was the three note soundtrack – a single guitar playing the same three notes over and over – or the lack of cinematography. John Williams better watch his back. To be fair, however, the music matches perfectly with the Spanish Soap Opera type acting.
It seems like I should be seeing clips of this movie on The Soup. The close ups of the faces… the eyes always cast down… the cameras spinning around the actors for no discernable reason.
The following are probably not real quotes (as I have tried to block these scenes from my memory).
“I love you…”
“I love you.. But we can’t be together”.
“I know, but I love you”.
“Ok, we can do this”
“OK… but no… we can’t.”
“But I love you…”
“I love you too.”
That being said, the special effects, like blurring people when they aren’t moving fast to make it seem like they are moving fast. Wow… I never thought something could both suck and blow at the same time.
Anyway, that being said, I almost want to watch it again just for the suck factor (pun intended). It could be my own personal Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie.
And yes, before you ask, I have read the book.
Have fun renting. If there are other movies you would like me to review, let me know.
