As the sun broke through the clouds on a gloomy Friday evening, thousands of families and friends headed into Forest Park for the annual Great Forest Park Balloon Glow at the World's Fair Pavilion.
Some families came early and set up tables and chairs to enjoy a picnic in the park. Under the shade of a tree near the Upper Muny parking lot, Cathy and Cliff Amen and his brother Charlie and his wife Stephanie dined on takeout before trooping over to the Glow (from the

The Great Forest Park Balloon Race has been given the proud distinction of being Missouri's largest single-day sporting event. It's a tribute to the City of St. Louis which was recognized recently as the Best Sports City in the county.
This year the event returned to Central Field in Forest Park with 70 balloonists and more than 130,000 spectators (from the
